La novia perfecta y Su Inalcanzable Ser
The Perfect Girlfriend and Her Unattainable Self

《从我到你》系列的装置艺术展示,展出于Symbiosis。
In this piece, part of the series The Girlfriend Experience, I explore the tension between the commodified image and the multifaceted reality of women. The central portrait is based on a pornographic actress whose image was extracted from social media (X/Twitter), where she is marketed as a nameless object of mass consumption, reduced to labels like "petite" or "babe". By choosing an image where she appears younger than she is, I highlight the persistent infantilization of the female body in popular culture.
Over her body, I have layered an intricate embroidery of female anime characters, ranging from hentai figures to protagonists of shōjo (manga for girls). This overlay acts as a reclamation of identity: by blending these diverse, often contradictory archetypes, I create a figure that is too complex and edged to be a mere "real woman" under the consuming gaze.
Following Rozsika Parker’s theory in The Subversive Stitch, the embroidery here functions as a transition from the domestic and the silent to the public and the critical. The needle pierces the flattened, commercialized image to stitch back the "shards" of a personality that the industry attempts to erase. The background features blue hands—one piercing the head, another failing to reach—symbolizing the violent and fragmented nature of these interactions. Through this visual explosiveness, I seek to dismantle power structures and re-signify the female figure beyond the transactional nature of desire.
