While these works function independently, they constitute a diptych exploring different modes of resistance against sexual violence. The unifying element is the presence of tentacles, a direct reference to censorship laws in Japanese pornography (hentai), where the prohibition of unmasked genitalia has led to the substitution of the phallus with monstrous appendages. I employ this iconography to materialize abuse not merely as a physical act, but as an invasive, dehumanizing force.

In "Meanwhile...", I portray myself topless, maintaining an expression of calm coquettishness. Although the "monster" of trauma looms in the background, I embroider the word MEANWHILE as a declaration of autonomy: it asserts that my capacity for pleasure and self-determination persists simultaneously with, and in spite of, the existence of violence.

In contrast, "Like in the Reality of Fantasy" offers a more precarious scenario. I paint myself semi-nude, wearing a school skirt that alludes to infantilization, physically struggling against being consumed by the tentacles. Lacking physical protection, I turn to symbolic defense: I embroider Yuno Gasai (from the anime Mirai Nikki) over the scene. Yuno represents the yandere archetype—obsessive love manifested through extreme violence. Drawing on the concept of the "Girl" as a "war machine", I stitch her figure as a sigil—a talismanic protector that deploys fictional aggression to shield a vulnerable reality.
